About me
Having spent over three decades in public health and education with an emphasis on pediatric disabilities, I'm an open book. As a parent of a now-adult son with a traumatic brain injury in early childhood and as a severe TBI survivor myself, I have intense passion to share the brain injury and neuroimpairment message with professionals, family members and communities. Information empowers the listener and has the potential to create life change!! I am always interested in listening to the stories and journeys of others and to learning more! My vocational interests include educating and empowering others who live with or work in the disability community, but I also have a passion for any topics related to neurobiology, sociobiology, and neuropsychology. I currently teach as full-time faculty at Diné College within the Navajo Nation in the School of Diné Studies and Education, preparing future bilingual educators to serve their communities at the elementary and secondary levels. My avocational interests include ranching, hiking, visiting remote parks, and doing two-wheel therapy on my Harley when I'm not watching Packer Football. I'm currently (still) building my forever home in the Tonto National Forest where I live with my pack of 3 rescue dogs, Luigi the Goat, and a flock of 4 ducks.
