About me
Dawn is Gwich'in Athabaskan and Aleut from the Native Village of Fort Yukon. She cares passionately about the Alaska Native population and want everyone she meets to understand the unique challenges they face in Western style education. Dawn is relativly new to the teaching profession as she stayed home and raised eleven children. Most of Dawn's children experience pre-natal exposure to drugs and alcohol and Dawn has spent her life searching for ways to offer her children the best future possible. Dawn was also a licensed foster parent for over 30 years and believes that every child deserves a healthy family. For hobbies Dawn loves traveling the world, public speaking, and just completed her first theater production where she played Mama Macaroni, a gangetr's Mom!
